Sample sounds of Dustin Edge and Mike Blair

I found some great old recordings of Dustin Edge and Mike Blair. Dustin, back in his past life leading Cast Iron Filter, can be seen performing “Kamikaze Man” in this video from 2004. After going solo, Dustin changed his sound a bit, but has maintained his honest, earthy, and experienced presence on stage. A video of a more recent performance of “Weights and Measures” can be seen here.

Mike Blair, no stranger to WHQR, performed live for their program “Soup To Nuts Live” in 2008. That full recording can be heard here.

Dustin and Mike will be playing at the WHQR gallery at 254 N Front Street on Saturday, September 3, 2011. For more info and tickets click on the “Concerts” button above.

Legwork for Dustin Edge/Mike Blair show well underway

Many thanks to the businesses in downtown ILM for letting me put my posters up for the Labor Day Weekend show. Only one business said no. What’s up with THAT?

This is really starting to shape up nicely. Hopefully the included dinner will get a few more folks in the door.

Great local music, comedy date night

We made last night a triple feature: Comedy show at Nutt Street, music at the Soap Box (right upstairs from Nutt St), and then late-night breakfast at Waffle House.

Tracy Smith was viciously hilarious and the opening act of the Ballyhoo! show, The Sound Down Shore, was top-notch as well. It’s inspiring to see people doing well at what they love to do.
